Stop making YouTube videos that nobody watches… Do THIS instead!

“I feel as if I’m in an endless loop at this point of uploading a video, hoping at least one of my videos draw in some new viewers”

– Sean (Gaming YouTuber)

Have you ever felt like you’re trying everything but nothing’s working for you?

I was recently sent an email from one of my customers that purchased “A Gamer’s Guide To Greatness“. He asked for my assistance in helping him get on track to becoming a full-time YouTuber

I asked him to send over the 3 biggest YouTube problems he needs help with…

And now I’m going to be solving these problems in the next few emails, so don’t miss one!

These are the same problems that you will probably experience throughout your journey on YouTube, so you’ll want to pay attention…

Here’s what his first problem was:

“I feel as if I’m in an endless loop at this point of uploading a video, hoping at least one of my videos draw in some new viewers, just for me to wind up promoting them and nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong that’s causing my videos to not attract any viewers organically, and do I possibly need to step away from the traditional “lets play” and focus on other aspects of gaming content (challenges, tutorials, online play, etc.)?

I desperately want YouTube to become my full time job so I can make money doing what I loved since I was a kid, but I just can’t seem to pinpoint what it is I’m missing.”

– Sean (Gaming YouTuber)

As you can tell, Sean is experiencing the same obstacles that affect many YouTube gamers when they’re starting their journey…

This problem of not being able to attract viewers organically and nobody caring about your let’s plays is something that is easily solved!

In fact, I covered how to get organic traffic to your YouTube channel in chapter 3 and 4 of my book…

Chapter 3 teaches you how to create a content plan that delivers the results you want. I walk you through the different types of content you can upload to your channel. I also explain the benefits and disadvantages of those types of content.

Sean is making a big mistake with his content plan right now…

There are 3 different types of content and Sean is only using ONE.

He’s pretty much ONLY uploading let’s play videos right now (hub content). Let’s play videos are great for building a connection with the audience you already have, but this type of content is terrible at bringing in new viewers

This is why you’ll see that a lot of small gaming YouTubers that focus only on let’s play videos end up quitting. It’s a very slow way to grow and it’s not an effective strategy.

The best way to bring new viewers to your channel is to create content that will rank in search (help content). This is why video SEO is truly so important and it is my secret weapon for building a sustainable YouTube channel.

I teach you how you can use SEO to make your videos rank highly in chapter 4 of the book…

So here’s the fix to getting more views on your let’s play videos:

  1. Create tutorial videos around the game you’re playing and use SEO to make those videos rank highly
  2. Link your let’s play playlist in the description, pinned comment and cards of the tutorials
  3. At the end of your tutorial videos, mention that your viewers can see you playing the game in your let’s play series

Why should you do this?

Honestly, nobody cares about your let’s plays until you make them care. If you’re not the first to cover the game or have an audience already, the chances are you will get very low views

People care about what’s in it for them

If you can help someone solve their problems they’re much more likely to check out your other content. If you create a good tutorial around the game, people will be interested in seeing how you play the game because they might learn even more.

Always think about how you can solve more problems and provide more value. That will lead to more views and more money. If you want to be a full-time YouTuber, you NEED to get this…

Again – nobody cares until you make them care. If you’re the 72,983,474th person playing through a game, that really doesn’t provide much value at all and the views usually reflect that.

Stop making content that people don’t care about or want. Read chapter 3 and 4 of the book to start creating videos that people are searching for…
