The foolproof way to get more views on your YouTube gaming channel and make bank
2 years ago, I got a comment from a stranger on one of my tutorial videos I had recently posted…
He said something to the affect of “everyone knows this”…
That video now has over 50K views.
The video also has many comments that say “thank you” and “omg, I couldn’t figure out how to do this”.
So I guess “everyone knows this” was actually a misinformed opinion in my YouTube comment section and not solid advice – who would’ve known?!
The point is that assuming and speaking in generalisations WILL hold you back.
It’s very small minded to think that everyone else in the world thinks like you.
I have proven many times that basic, simple tutorials can perform remarkably well on YouTube…
So I’m going to share this absolute gem of a strategy with you.
This is something that the majority of YouTube gamers miss out on because they wrongly assume that “everyone knows this“…
I used to have limiting beliefs like that too.
But in May 2016, I put out a video that I thought would get 500 views MAX. I thought that nobody was going to watch it because I was sharing BASIC information that “everyone knows”, right?
I was SO WRONG…
Almost 400k views later, my video on “How To Change Your PSN Email Address” didn’t do too bad.
I realised 3 big things here:
- Some people DON’T KNOW the same things you know (breaking news!)
- The PS4 settings tutorials niche is a GOLDMINE with low competition (we’ll talk about this later)
- People will google small problems that they can’t be bothered to figure out themselves
So what should you do with all this?
- Create tutorials for EVERY SETTING on your PS4 (even the settings you think “everybody knows” about)
- Use SEO to get the videos to rank highly
- Link to playlists and videos that you’d like to promote in your descriptions, pinned comment and cards
Why will this work?
Well, if you have a YouTube gaming channel then you want to attract people to your channel that like and play games right?
People who play on PS4 (or any console/PC) will eventually google or search YouTube to help them with a problem they’re having…
You want to be the person they find when they look for their solution. You can also promote your gaming related content and use these settings tutorials as free advertising.
These types of videos are so overlooked. There are barely ANY creators taking advantage of this.
This is a niche that is ripe for anyone willing to put the work in…
Another great thing is that these videos will help you make more money! I’ve experienced this myself as I have seen that my PS4 settings videos have higher CPMs than my gaming videos. So you can make more money (from adsense) with less views!
And if you think this strategy is cool, you’ll love chapter 12 of “A Gamer’s Guide To Greatness“…
In that chapter, I teach you over 6 new ways to make more money on your gaming channel.
If you don’t want to rely on adsense crumbs forever and you want to build a real sustainable income… you need to grab the book ASAP!
All the best,
