My videos used to be crap…

And some angry commenters on my YouTube videos would argue they still are…

But I know I’ve come a LONG way from my old content.

I’m:

  • More confident…
  • Better on camera…
  • Better at communicating and teaching…

But none of that happened overnight.

In fact, I was watching one of my videos from 2017 and I wasn’t too pleased with it…

The information was solid and it served it’s purpose but…

The audio quality was terrible.

I was also reading a script and my delivery was wack af. But here’s the thing…

I’ve been watching through my “YouTube For Noobs” course that I’m planning to release next month…

And I realise that I am a MUCH better creator than I was 2 years ago, or even a year ago.

You don’t even want to look at my videos from 5 years ago. The worst thing is…

One of my MOST VIEWED videos (over a million views) is from 5 years ago and I cringe so hard when I watch it.

But those views still bring in $$ so I’m not complaining. And the video still helps people – people are commenting “thank you” to this day.

It’s even been used in schools…

The video is “how to write a rap song” if you wanted to know. Please don’t watch it…

The point of this trip down memory lane is:

This YouTube game is a grind.

You will start off making trash content that you will look back on and promptly vomit a little bit in your mouth.

But you will get better…

And you get better by DOING. By CREATING.

As much as possible, until it’s EASY.

That’s where I’m at now.

Creating videos is easy, so I can challenge myself by stepping up the production a bit.

But don’t compare your day 1 to someone else’s year 5.

Compare yourself to who you were last year. Or who you want to become next year.

That’s my 2 cents.
