Don’t make the same mistake I made…
This evening, I have a date with a dentist…
After a decade of dodging the dentists chair, I’m going in there WILLINGLY…
I’m even PAYING (handsomely) FOR THE PRIVILEGE…
Last week, I had the first dental check up I’ve had since I was about 11 years old.
(That’s over 14 years mate…I was prepared for some HORRIBLE news)
But, there was a surprise:
The dentist told me I was LUCKYYY enough to ONLY need 1 filling and some cleaning after all these years…
I was just as surprised as she was tbh…
As far as I remember, the last time I went to the dentist I got a filling…and that filling fell out while I was eating crisps…I remember the moment so vividly…
There was an awkward crunch sound, just before I felt the filling loosen and drop into my mouth…
I was absolutely NOT excited to go back to the dentist to have the filling replaced at the time…
And, I just assumed my teeth had gotten more damaged since that fateful day when those delicious McCoys ridged crisps betrayed me.
But, I’m not complaining.
Here’s why:
This evening, I’m getting a new filling and a thorough clean of my teeth and gums.
Then, I’m gonna spend the next 6 months realigning my teeth so they’re straight and beautiful…
But, here’s the thing:
If I had bit the bullet (metaphorically, cos I’m sure that’d be bad for my teeth) back when I was 11…instead of being a scared ass kid…I would’ve got braces and fillings etc.
Sure, I would’ve spent a year or 2 being ridiculously ugly…
But, I would’ve saved myself all this cashhh and hassle I’m putting myself through now.
In short:
It’s better to nip problems in the bud…and stop yourself sliding in the wrong direction…
Instead of letting the problem grow and fester, then trying to fix it after…
Even if you get lucky like me and you’re able to avoid the consequences you DESERVE…
You’ll still end up wasting a WILD amount of time doing the WRONG thing, moving AWAY from your goals…
